About EIMS
Environmental Impact Management Services (Pty) Ltd (EIMS) was founded in 1993 and has steadily grown to be a significant player in the environmental management consulting industry in South Africa and the rest of Africa. Environmental management and sustainable development have become business imperatives in the 21st century. Identifying, understanding and complying with environmental legislation presents the greatest challenges facing South African industries and developers today.

SA Law has both public law provisions and private law remedies for environmental transgressions. There is also provision for application of African Customary Law and common law where legislation is lacking.

EIMS is made up of specialist consultants from diverse environmental fields and in conjunction with our range of local and international network partners who provide EIMS clients to an unprecedented body of knowledge and expertise and environmental risk management.

EIMS Projects: Two more Northern Cape solar farms enter commercial operations


 Biotherm Solar Farms

Two solar farms enter commercial operation- EIMS fulfilled the role of independant Environmental Control Officers (ECO) on both of these projects.

Independent power producer (IPP) BioTherm Energy has confirmed that its two 10 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities, Konkoonsies and Aries, have officially entered into commercial operations. he projects were selected as part of the first bid window under the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP).

Concrete market sees steady reduction in cement use as researchers tackle carbon conundrum

The global cement industry is judged to be responsible for about 5% of total carbon emissions worldwide – among the highest in industry in the world, says cement producer AfriSam’s sales and marketing executive Grant Neser. In order to shake off this reputation, the cement industry, as well as researchers active in the fields ofcement and concrete production, has been working long hours to reduce cement’s carbon footprint.
